Abstract: In order to measure the 360º geometry profile of complicated object, a novel method to implement the measurement of object’s 360°profile is proposed. In the grating projection profilometry, when the measured object is rotated round X-axis, object’s 3D profiles corresponding with different rotating angle can be gotten. In our method, the above profiles data in the respective single-view coordinate system are firstly transformed into the data in the same coordinate system by transform matrix which is derived from translation matrix and rotation matrix; A new “mask matrix method” is also proposed and employed to connect the transformed profiles data into the 360º profile of object. Experiment results show that the present method can get 360º profile of the measured object fast and well, in which only four objects’ 3D profiles corresponding with four rotating angle, namely 0º, 90º, 180º, 270º are proceeded. It can measure the geometry profile not only of the continuous shape but also of the discontinuous shape.
