Abstract: Because the pressing powder control process of loading materials for initiating explosive device exists serious nonlinear and time-varying problem, and is difficult to establish the accurate model after analyzing its pressing powder characteristic, a new method with a linear buffer is proposed to reduce the control difficulty, to improve the object characteristics and to enhance the control effect of powder pressure, quality and consistency of initiating explosive device. In addition, other functions of linear buffer are analyzed in the automatic powder press process of loading materials for initiating explosive device. The linear buffer is calculated using ANSYS finite element method, and the calculation is agreement with the experimentation. It can be used to instruct and improve the design of linear buffer. The real application of linear buffer in automatic powder press of loading materials for initiating explosive device demonstrates that this new method is valid, and the density consistency of initiating explosive device is improved efficiently, and will prompt the automation producing level of aerospace initiating explosive device.
