Abstract: To grasp the rolling bearing greases’ noise feature and develop a low noise grease, the influence of lithium greases’ components and technological process on greases’ noise character are inspected, and the greases’ structure are analyzed. The grease’s noise are measured by bearing vibrating (velocity) method and bearing vibrating (acceleration) method, and every physics and chemistry index are tested. How the greases’ noise are caused is analyzed by scan electronic microscope through cooling resuming prototype method. To find that mixture of naphthenic mineral oil and ester oil as base oil, the grease has a proper noise character. Mineral oil as base oil, the grease taking controlled temperature cooling method has a good noise feature, mixture of naphthenic mineral oil and ester oil as base oil, natural cooling grease’s noise is lower. The grease’s structure, rolling bearing’s vibrating noise, physics and chemistry index are studied all together, a proper component and technics are decided, a low noise lithium grease is developed and it’s bearing life is tested.

Key words: Lithium grease Base oil Cooling Bearing noise Scan electronic microscope
