Abstract: The objective of the study is to analyze one particular engine, the dual hydraulic free piston engine—DHFPE. First the dynamical model of DHFPE’s piston component assemble is built. The motion of DHFPE is self-sustained oscillation with variable rigidity and variable damp. The stability of DHFPE is analyzed on the basis of DHFPE’s phase—plane diagram. Then the amplitude frequency characteristics is presented. Finally the method of determining DHFPE operation frequency is presented. and bring up the necessary condition of its normal operation.
