FLUID COUPLED WHEELSETS

Abstract: In order to make a good progress to engineering of high-speed railway in vehicle with magneto-rheological fluid (MRF) coupled wheelsets, mathematical model of vehicle system with 31 DOF is established. Simulation shows that the displacement, yaw of wheelsets, wheel/rail lateral force and the lateral acceleration of carbody change greatly when MRF yield stress is less than a certain value and curve radius is less than a certain value, two-point may come into being. The former performance is smaller and vary slowly in the subsequent scope of MRF yield stress. If yield stress is increased, the former performance becomes bigger. Therefore, vehicle with MRF coupled wheelsets possesses better highspeed curve passing dynamic performances when yield stress is in the certain scope.
