KINEMATIC PROPERTIES AND TEST OF PLASTICS’ OPTIMAL SEPARATION EQUIPMENT

Abstract: A new process of plastics’ optimal separation from domestic waste is presented, and principle and mechanism for separating plastics are analyzed. A mathematical model of the separating process is established, and the effect of some parameters such as density, wind speed, sloping angle of airflow and height of separating zone on the separating rate is studied, then range of these parameters is determined. The test-beds for plastics separating are developed and a lot of tests are conducted. The rationality of this new study result is validated through tests, and the structure and kinematics parameters of plastic separating equipments are established, with an optimal 13~17 m/s wind-speed horizontally and 14o blowing angle, thus presenting certain theoretical basis for developing plastics separation equipment, so that the rate of separating plastic is over 85%.
