Abstract: Experiment
system is essential to the investigation of force isolation, which is
much different from the exciter for displacement isolation upon
mechanism and transducer setting. A rig and corresponding measuring
system is developed to fulfill the requirements of the force isolation
of single layer or double-layer system. First, framework based on
synchronized dual rotational vibrators is designed and made. Secondly, the exciting force of the exciter is deduced. Thirdly, measuring method, PC based software and hardware for force transmissibility is presented.
Finally, force transmissibility of the double- layer and double-layer
systems of no damping, light damping and heavy damping provided by Lord
Company produced MR damper RD-1005-3 is measured independently. The
results show that the experimental damping free transmissibility matches
well the theoretical one; however, the experimental transmissibility of
light damping and heavy damping differs much from the theoretical one
because of the strong nonlinearity of the MR damper.
