Abstract: E-manufacturing
cell formation is a combination optimization problem, in which how to
get the global optimized result and reduce the system complexity is
important and difficult. Through deeply analyzing the mechanism of e-manu-
facturing system, a kind of two-tier structure of e-manufacturing cells
is put forward and an analytical target cascading (ATC) based
synergistic cell formation model is presented. In this model, the coupled relations among the manufacturing proc-esses of different part families are mainly considered and the clustering analysis of parts is working as a basic technology. The detail algorithm analysis is given to demonstrate the ra-tionality and effectiveness of the model.
