Abstract: The simulation and test of the hydraulic system of electronic stability program (ESP) are analyzed and tested. The active pressure control model which includes the control valves, eccentric rotary plunger pump, brake pipe/hose, and throttles, is built. The active pressure system is simulated, and the dominant characteristics of the subsystems are obtained. Based on the dominant characteristics of the model and experimental data, the hydraulic model and inverse model are developed. The hydraulic model and inverse model can be used to the inline estimation with EPS and obtain the wheel brake pressure which is one of the most important parameters of the system. The simulation and experiment show that the hydraulic model and inverse model can satisfy the require of the EPS online control.
