Abstract: This paper presents a
numerical method to analyze the lubrication performance of high
ellipticity ratio concentrated contacts under heavy load, which
uses the advanced multigrid/multilevel techniques to solve the
Reynolds equation and evaluate the elastic deformation of the
bounding surfaces. Several groups of multilevel solutions to the
EHL problems of long elliptical contacts under heavy load are
presented.
