Abstract: The double freedom degree mechanical model with damping for forging hammers is set up in this paper, and the influences of the stiffness and damping ratio of the liquid damper on the vibration-absorbing ability are discussed. Especially, the optimum design for stiffness and damping ratio of the damper is carried out by the full-displacement method and direct experiment method. The results of calculation and experiment show that the stiffness and damping ratio have great effect on the performance of the isolater.

Key words: Liquid damper  Stiffness  Damping ratio  Optimum design
