Abstract:
The liquid
extrusion process is developed on the basis of the liquid
forging technology and by combining the characteristic of large
plastic flow of hot extrusion. One of its specialities is that
the forming pressure is much less than that of hot extrusion,
but the characteristic of the large plastic deformation is
maintained, meanwhile the large extrusion ratio can be got by
one forming process. In this paper, this characteristic has been
revealed from mechanical principle, and the formula calculating
the deforming load of liquid extrusion has been derived from the
slab method of metal plastic theory. The results have been
compared with the experimental ones, they are in good accordance
with each other. It can be seen from the study that the
deforming load of liquid extrusion has little connection with
the extruded material performance, and the values for the
easily-deformed or the difficultly-deformed materials are nearly
the same. Thus the process is of great significance for the
difficultly-deformed alloy formation.
