Abstract: A new kind of measuring schedule and set for geometric feature measurement in cylindrical grinding process has been introduced in this paper. Considering the characteristics of in-process measurement, three-point measurement method for roundness and other form indexes is improved and adapted in order to separate the error of rotation and detect the measured profile features accurately by mathematical means of geometric analyses and discrete Fourier transform. Verification method and affecting factors of the measurement are discussed also.

Key words: Machine part  Geometric feature  In-process measurement
