Abstract: The penalty function method
of continuum shape optimization and its sensitivity analysis
technique are presented. A relatively simple integrated shape
optimization system is developed and used to optimize the design
of the inner frame shape of a three-axis test table. The result
shows that the method converges well, and the system is stable
and reliable.
