Abstract: An experimental approach is adopted to assess degradation of the cutting fluids in a workshop environment. The biological contaminants are identified and their effects on the cutting fluid properties are studied. Moreover, the effect of the degradation on the process performance in terms of roughness of the machined surface is also evaluated.
