PHYSICS-BASED ILLUMINATION
MODEL FOR METAL SURFACE
RECONSTRUCTION IN RE*

Abstract: Representation of roughness is introduced and the rationality of applying the physics-based model in RE is analyzed at first. Then the scattering theory of electromagnetic wave is sim-plified and deduced to a physics-based model according to the characteristics of the surface to be reconstructed in RE. At last, the intensity diagrams of reflected field distribution are provided to prove the feasibility of the presented model and some spheres are rendered with this model.

Key words: Illumination model  Reverse engineering  Surface reconstruction  Computer vision
