ELASTOHYDRODYNAMIC LUBRICATION OF LONG ELLIPTICAL CONTACTS UNDER HEAVY LOAD
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2308) [PDF 267KB](116)
Abstract:
This paper presents a numerical method to analyze the lubrication performance of high ellipticity ratio concentrated contacts under heavy load, which uses the advanced multigrid/multilevel techniques to solve the Reynolds equation and evaluate the elastic deformation of the bounding surfaces. Several groups of multilevel solutions to the EHL problems of long elliptical contacts under heavy load are presented.
PHYSICAL SIMULATION OF TENSION STRESS THEORY OF A RIGID-PLASTIC MECHANICAL MODEL FOR UPSETTING A CIRCULAR CYLINDER
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2265) [PDF 132KB](113)
Abstract:
It has been proved by physical simulation that there exist radial and tangential tension stresses in the central zone (except the rigid zone) of the deformed body when a circular cylinder in upsetting between common flat platens. The method of physical simulation is new, simple, reliable and practical.
ALGORITHM FOR FACE/POLYHERON CLASSIFICATION IN MACHINE DESIGN CAD SYSTEM
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2293) [PDF 193KB](75)
Abstract:
According to the odd/even number of intersection points between bounding faces of a polyhedron and a ray of a finite-boundaty face in the direction of normal vector of the face, this paper gives out a new algoriithm for face/polyhedron classification. Analysis and discussion of this algorithm are conducted in details, and finally diagram examples are given.

ANALYSIS ON DEFORMATION AND STRESS OF BOW SPRING WITH NONLINEAR THEORY
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2357) [PDF 190KB](102)
Abstract:
This paper deals with the deformation and stress of the one-piece bow spring by means of the geometry nonlinear theory of thin plate. The deformation of the loaded spring is regarded as a bending problem of the thin plate. The deformation of the loaded spring is regarded as a bending problem of the thin plate with initial deflection. After a series of theoretical analyses a characteristic line equation and calculation formulae for the stress of the spring is formulated.
SPECIAL PROFILE SHAPER
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2078) [PDF 208KB](139)
Abstract:
When the backlash way of the workpiece is narrow, the bobbing machining may be not used, the special shaping machining had to be used. To the shape surface in the blind hole, when the broach machining can not be used, the shaping machining must be used. Actually, special shaping should be an essential way of the machinery process. Then the economical design and building of the cutter have been found, this process has been developed.
COMPREHENSIVE EXPERIMENT STUDY OF THE FORCE PARAMETERS OF COLD STRIP ROLLING ON A 4-H MILL
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2076) [PDF 227KB](87)
Abstract:
A Comprehensive measurement on the force parameters of cold aluminium strip rolling has been carried out on a 300 mm 4-h reversible cold rolling mill. In the measurement, the width/thickness of rolled pieces is from 15 to 620. The rolling pressure and the two directional friction stresses in deformation zone are measured by nine universal measuring devices arranged along the axial direction of work roll and a sampling computer. Meanwhile, the transverse distributios of front and back tension stresses are measured by two flatness meters. The influence of bending roll force (the flatness of rolled strip) on above mentioned force parameters is investigated. The experiment provides objective basis for the development of the 3-dimensional theory model of cold strip rolling.
AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION OF FREEDOM TYPES OF PLANAR KINEMATIC CHAINS
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2107) [PDF 229KB](94)
Abstract:
Planar kinematic chains have three kinds of freedom types, viz., total, partial and fractionated freedom. This paper brings out some rules, presents for the first time a complete method to identify these freedom types, and expands the definition of fractionated freedom. This method is already realized in computer.
CALCULATION OF SPINNING FORCE BY THE ELASTOPLASTIC FINITE ELENENT METHOD
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2331) [PDF 183KB](134)
Abstract:
Usually, spinning force was calculated by using deflaction method and energe method which resulted in obvious difference between the results gained from calculation and measurement. In this paper, the spinning force was calculated to use elastoplastic finit element method of analysing the structure of thick crust of curved surface. The results gained from this method is precions enough to be applied to the design of spinning machine and of spinning process.
IN-PROCESS DETECTION OF TOOL WEAR AND BREAKAGE IN TURNING
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2114) [PDF 218KB](133)
Abstract:
In this paper, feasibility of tool monitoring with cutting force in turning is studied. A new concept of resultant cutting force vector coefficient η is defined. Based on systematic investigation on the efffects of tool wear and breakage, and other variables on η, a new monitoring system for tool wear and breakage is developed.
STUDY ON TOOTH MODIFICATION OF HOURGLASS WORM GEARING WITH DEVELOPABLE TOOTH SURFACE
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2172) [PDF 158KB](79)
Abstract:
A method of modifying the hourglass worm gearing with developable tooth surface has been proposed. The method has been applied to relieve the worm gearing from the influence of manufacture errors. The tooth contact and kinematic precision of the modified worm gearing with manufacture error has been investigated by the TCA method. The results show that by the modification, the edge contact resulting from the manufacturing error is avoided or effectively relieved and the kinematic error of the worm gearing is obviously reduced.
COMPLEX STRESS ANALYSIS OF COLD MILL ROLL
1993, 7(2).
[Abstract](2117) [PDF 214KB](82)
Abstract:
The residual and working stresses of cold mill roll are analyzed theoritically in this paper, and a nondestructive testing method for prediction the residual stress is also published here. Using the elastic contact theory, a 3-D finite element analysis was provided for the cold mill roll. Thus, we obtained the condition by which the residual stress of the cold mill roll should be satisfied within the limit of elastisity.
