VIRTUAL ORGANIZING PROCESS-A CRITICAL STRATEGY FOR ENTERPRISE IN THE INFORMATION ERA
2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2369) [PDF 331KB](91)
Abstract:
The term virtual enterprise has generated some considerable confusion due to ite actual literal interpretations. That, the successful establishment of a virtual enterprise is mainly due to the virtual organizing processes of the enterprise's strategies, rather than transforming itself into a virtual organization, is argued. A three dimensions frame of virtual organizing strategies is proposed, and all virtual organizing strategies described by different authors are able to find their positions in the frame. To achieve competitive advantages, the CEOs of enterprises in the information era may organize virtually their enterprises by the three approaches including virtual encounter, outsourcing, and business intelligence.

[Abstract](2370) [PDF 132KB](58)
Abstract:
Virtual enterprise is a new form of organization that will be the dominant pattern of operation for Business and market competition for the 21st century's manufactuing enterprises. In the estabilshing process of virtual enterprise, partner selection is not only important but also very complex problem. Choosing competent and compatible coopration partners is crucial for the success of virtual enterprises. The factors are analyzed and the principles that combine quantiative analysis and qualitative analysis, competency analysis and compatibility analysis are given. These principles should be abide-by in the process of pratner selection. Finally, a three-stage model of partner selection and its realization methods are presented.

OPTIMUM TOOLING DESIGN FOR RESIN TRANSFER NOLDING WITH VIRTUAL MANUFACTURING
2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2260) [PDF 367KB](167)
Abstract:
Resin transfer molding is one of the most promising fabrication methods for mid-volume, highperformance polymer composite structures. Yet there exist several technical issues which impede a wide application base. One of those issues is tooling design. In the RTM process, the arrangement of injection gates and vents of the mold has a significat impact on product quality and process effciency. A systematic approach is introduced for optimum design of RTM tooling systems. This apporach is built upon a three-dimensional RTM simulation model coupled with a neural network-genetic algorithm optimization procedue. With the simulation results, a neual network-based meta-model is created for rapid RTM process modeling. Genetic algorithm is applied to this rapid RTM process model to search for the optimum solution to RTM process design. The tooling design scheme enables the engineer to deatermine the optimum locations of injection gates and vents for the best processing performance.

2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2280) [PDF 418KB](108)
Abstract:
Based on the genetic algorithms(Gas), an automatic design and optimizing method called GMNN (Genetic Multilayer Nerual Network) for feedforward multilayer neural networks is put forward. Based on the analysis of historical structure design methods of neural networks, the special genetic encoding representations are discussed, and a fitness function is defined also. Some special genetic operations are designed according to the problem. In addition, simulated annealing algorithms, BP algorithms and niche technology is also used to accelerate the convergence rate and improve the generalization of the solution. The elementary results of the experiments indicate that this method can find the satisfied network comparatively fast and the generalization performance of the network that we got is good. In the process of the software development, Java language is adopted considering the underlying parallel of the Gas and neual networks, and the realizing methods of parallel evolution neural networks are discussed also.

DISTRIBUTED PROCESS PLANNING FOR NET-WORKED DISTRIBUTED ENTERPRISE
2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2275) [PDF 239KB](72)
Abstract:
A multi agent approach is presented for solving a distributed process planning problem for a distrbuted net-worked enterprise. A net-worked distributed enterprise is made-up of a factory and a group of sub-factories that belong to the same company. An order received by the factory is decomposed into sub-tasks that are assigned to the sub-factories to prepare process plans. The process plans prepared by the sub-factories indicate what can be achieved. The factory assesses them if they are optimal before the tasks are assigned. The agents take the place of real entites in process planning in order to facilitate the process planning activity. To monitor the task processing in all the sub-factories, a work-flow system that employs and electronic form is used for each sub-factory agent to enter its planning details and sign out once it has completed its task.
MODELING AND SIMULATION OF PRODUCT'S SURFACE DESIGN
2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2235) [PDF 241KB](107)
Abstract:
Surface design and structure design are two aspects of product design. Product information would be perfectly described only if both of them are organically united. Impact of product appearance on its performance and decoration has been paid much attention to in engineering and on market. Existing CAD system doesn't suffice surface design which still rests on stage of design with experience and handcraft. This case does not accommodate to the new development of market. To grapple with this problem, representation of appearance features, aided design of figure and suface design based on mapping are detailed. A design system of surface design and its application instance are given out in the end.

2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2320) [PDF 199KB](79)
Abstract:
The user interacts with the information retrieval system through interface agents by formulating queries. Queries are formulated in keywords or natural language expressions. Keywords do not express the domain and task contexts and natural language querises processing are still ineffcient. Query formulation is a very deteminant factor of the efficiency of the whole system. A method to take into account the task/domain context query formulation problem is discussed. The system through a feedback loop learns the user's profile and builds a set of ad hoc search agents ad hoc search agents as user customized path. This method has been tested in Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Seals web robot(HPSBot) a multi agents information retrieval system. HPSBot is a corporate project initiated by the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power to fill the gap between the increasing corporate information need and the state of the information retrieval technology.

2000, 14(Supplement).
[Abstract](2282) [PDF 225KB](108)
Abstract:
In upcoming knowledge society, knowledge workers or professionals play the key element role in improving organizational productivity. However, the characteristics of intellectuals or knowledge workers are very different from those of manual workers due to different working context.
